Welcome to the International Forum on Disability Management
(IFDM) website
Held biennially since 2002, IFDM is a catalyst for addressing issues of disability on a world stage. IFDM is the only global conference dedicated to in-depth discussion of problems, trends, and best practices in disability management. A major goal of IFDM is to bring key policy makers into the discussion and be an agent of change.
A group of leaders gathered in Vancouver in 2002 to share best practices, measure and evaluate outcomes, and promote better public policy toward individuals with disability. This tradition continued with events in Maastricht (2004), Brisbane (2006), Berlin (2008), Los Angeles (2010). The next conference will be held in London (September 2012) and in New Zealand in 2014.
IFDM provides the only forum with delegates from across the globe representing the health, safety, and workers' compensation communities. A diverse group of employers, workers, risk managers, unions, practitioners, jurisdictional and local government agencies, the insurance industry, policy makers and the public travel to meetings to participate in presentations, discussions, and workshops.
